Requirements for Admission to the Faculty of Nursing

Bachelor's Program:

Scientific Degree

Minia University Council grants a bachelor's degree in Nursing Sciences upon the request of the Faculty Council.

Postgraduate Program:

First: Diploma in Nursing:

At the request of the Faculty of Nursing Council at Minia University, Minia University grants a diploma degree in nursing

Second: Master's Degree in Nursing Sciences:

A master's degree in nursing is awarded in one of the following specializations:

-Internal and Surgical Nursing

-Critical and Emergency Nursing

-Maternal and Newborn Health Nursing

-Pediatric Nursing

-Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing

-Community Health Nursing

-Elderly Nursing

-Nursing Management

-Nursing Education

PhD degree is awarded in one of the following nursing specializations:

Internal and Surgical Nursing

Critical and Emergency Nursing

-Maternal and Newborn Health Nursing

-Pediatric Nursing

-Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing

-Community Health Nursing

-Elderly Nursing

-Nursing Management

-Nursing Education

Conditions of Admission to the Faculty of Nursing

Bachelor's Program:

Applying for the faculty of Nursing shall be in accordance with the public rules stipulated in the Executive Regulation of the University organizing law No. (49) of 1972. Students are accepted according to the following:

1-Obtaining a certificate of completion of the general secondary school of scientific section (science) or equivalent certificate provided that English language is the first foreign language and the success rate shall not be less than 75% and excludes those who obtained a foreign equivalency certificates.

2- Students who have the following qualifications may be accepted:

  1. Diploma of the technical institutes of nursing (Nursing Division), provided obtaining the qualification (three years at the most from the date of graduation), and a total of 75% of the total diploma is obtained. Students in the second year are accepted according to the numbers selected by the faculty, taking into account the regulations of students of technical institutes by the Supreme Council of Universities.
  2.  Public Nursing Diploma (Technical Secondary School of Nursing). It is provided obtaining a minimum total of 75% of the diploma is accepted degrees. The students are admitted to the first class at a rate not exceeding 5% of the accepted number after passing the equivalency exam at the high secondary school: (Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Sports 1), which is organized by the Supreme Council of Universities and being admitted to the faculty on the basis of the total degrees of nursing diploma with the grades of the supplementary equivalency exam at the secondary level.
  3. Obtaining a high degree (Bachelor's) degree may be accepted from other faculties or institutes of the first class, provided that he / she is a high school graduate from the scientific department. The applicant must obtain a general grade at least not less than the good grade according to the number determined by the faculty council and that he has not passed the degree of university more than three years.

3 - Full-time study (not to work in hospitals during the study and during mandatory year).

4- Success in medical examination.

5 - Pass the attitude tests announced by the Faculty Council.

6-Rules of transfer to the faculty: The rules of transfer to university are reviewed and the percentage of the number of transferees to the faculty is added as approved by the faculty council.

Postgraduate Program:

First: Nursing Diploma:

At the request of the Faculty of Nursing at Minia University, Minia University granted the degree of diploma in nursing in accordance with the request of Nursing Faculty Council.

Required Conditions:

1- To obtain a bachelor's degree in Nursing Sciences from a university in the Arab Republic of Egypt or equivalent degree from other corresponding universities.

2-The applicant must have spent at least one-year practicing nursing after the year of excellence.

3 - To be in compliance with the requirements of the university (English language and ICDL certificate).

4 - Maximum number of times to perform the exam (3) times or according to the credit hours system.

 5- The degree in the course of specialization should be at least good

For a student to register for a master’s degree in Nursing, the following are required:

. • Have a bachelor's degree in Nursing Science from one of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt with at least a good grade.

  • Meet the requirements of the university (English language and ICDL certificate).
  • The grade in the subject of specialization should be at least good.
  • For international students in addition to the following conditions: -

The rules and regulations issued by the Department of Expatriates and the Supreme Council of Universities shall be applied.

Equivalence of the certificate from the Supreme Council of Universities and a certificate of health of AIDS free extracted from the Arab Republic of Egypt and endorse all the declarations described above from the Department of Graduate Studies after the completion of the stamp duty.

- Approval of the embassy to study and select the fees.

- The study to obtain the Master's degree is two years at least, and registration may not extend for more than 4 years and the Faculty Council may be licensed for an exceptional year.

 - Have practiced Nursing for a period of not less than two years after the training year in a public or private hospital or scientific institute recognized by the university or have been working as a lecturer in the nursing faculty or high institute of Nursing for a period of not less than one year.
